SAN DIEGO — Buddhist Temple of San Diego will hold its 2012 Bon Odori on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Everyone is invited to joyfully celebrate and remember the lives of family members, friends and temple members who have passed on.

Food sales, exhibits, and crafts will begin at 5 p.m., and dancing at 6:30 p.m.

“Please be sure to bring your family and friends, for this is an event for both young and old,” organizers said. “Once the dancing begins, please DO NOT HESITATE in joining us!”

For those who were not able to attend the dance practices, dance instructors will be positioned in the inner circle.

A limited number of mid-sized bentos — beef, chicken and vegetarian tofu (contains eggs) — will be sold. There will also be other food items available for purchase.

If you do not have a happi coat or yukata to wear for dancing, you can purchase and wear a BTSD Bon Odori T-shirt, which is dark blue (80% or 90% cotton), with a four-color print image on the back.

The deadline for pre-ordering bentos and T-shirts has passed.

The temple is located at 2929 Market St., San Diego. Parking is available at 3030 Market St. For more information, call (619) 239-0896, email info@btsd.net or visit www.btsd.net.
