Paul Ozawa, a long-time resident of Torrance, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Born in Sacramento, Paul moved with his family to Los Angeles shortly before WWII. After 2 years in the Rohwer, AK relocation camp, he spent a year in Chicago before coming back to Los Angeles, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1947. Paul served in the army during the Korean War and graduated with a BS from UCLA in 1954
Paul is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Mark (Linda), Michael (Noriko), Mitchell (Ann), Marshall (Patricia) and Matthew (Mari); grandchildren, Kate, Sara, George, Elizabeth, Hayden, Camryn, Chase, Peyton, Jack and Scout; siblings, Christie Ichikawa (Robert), Doris Sakamoto (Sidney), Bill (Elaine); sister-in-law, Harrienne Ozawa; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and preceded in death by parents, Wataru and Pauline, and brother, Gerald. A private service was held at Gardena Buddhist Church with Reverend Miyaji officiating.
