“Showdown in Little Tokyo,” a 1991 action film set in Los Angeles, will be screened on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Aratani/Japan America Theatre, adjacent to the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, 244 S. San Pedro St. in Little Tokyo.
Directed by Mark Lester, the movie follows detectives Chris Kenner (Dolph Lungren) and Johnny Murata (the late Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee) as they track down yakuza drug lord Yoshida (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) in hopes of ceasing a lethal drug trade.
The cast also includes Tia Carrere, Rodney Kageyama, Takayo Fischer, Philip Tan, Toshiro Obata, Renee Griffin and James Taenaka.
