Tyler Tanaka, age 84, born in San Diego, Calif., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept.16, at his home in San Diego, surrounded by his loving family. Tyler was a successful businessman and his travel business, Japan and Orient Tours, was located in the Kajima building on 1st Street in Little Tokyo for many years, and later moved to the San Diego area. He is survived by his caring and devoted wife of 54 years, Peggy Tanaka; sons Stuart (Kely Pinho) Tanaka, Brian Tanaka, and daughter Diane (Joseph Friedman) Tanaka, sister Iris Fukutaki, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be private. Donations may be made to the Japanese American National Museum,100 N Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012 in his memory.
