WATSONVILLE — In commemoration of Veterans Day, “Valor with Honor” will be shown on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Watsonville-Santa Cruz JACL’s Kizuka Hall, 150 Blackburn St.

The independent documentary film is based on dozens of detailed oral histories of Japanese American World War II veterans, some of whom have since passed away. The screening comes a year after the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for outstanding service to the country.

There will be a Q&A with the filmmaker, Burt Takeuchi, and 442nd veteran Lawson Sakai will speak. DVDs of the film will be signed.

Everyone, including veterans of all wars and their families, is invited. There is no admission charge, and light refreshments will be served.
