There are a variety of programs and opportunities for youth in the Nikkei community geared toward building an understanding of culture, heritage, leadership and community service. Come learn all about them at the Nikkei Youth Programs Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. Third St., Los Angeles.

The event will feature testimonials from students on the future of the community and the impact of these programs. Organizers hope that students, parents and community members will walk away with a sense of what opportunities are available for youth as well how to get involved.
This program is sponsored by the Nikkei Youth Collaborative, a committee of representatives from various youth programs in Little Tokyo and the greater Los Angeles area.
