The East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center in West Covina held its Free Family Health Fair on Nov. 3. Healthy Japanese foods included tofu curry made by Ayame Kai (pictured) and somen salad from ESGVJCC Gakuen.

Takafumi Hamabata, head instructor of Goju Ryu Eibu Kan Karate-Do, led a series of training exercises.
Health-related groups volunteering their services included the Indian Pharmacists Association. The fair offered blood pressure, glucose, dental, vision and hearing screenings and BMI (body mass index) analysis.
