Tak, a Japanese American community activist, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2012. Tak, one of the original members of the Manzanar Committee, worked closely with Sue Kunitomi Embrey to establish Manzanar as a historic site and to organize the Manzanar Pilgrimage. He was also a longtime member and past president of the San Fernando Valley JACL. He was a longtime advocate of human rights who helped to establish the API LGBT Organization. He is survived by his partner, Karl Fish; brothers Shoji and Noriyuki; sisters, Kikuko Sadamitsu and Kimiyo Ige, and many friends who will miss him dearly. A private “Celebration of Life” was held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
