Hatsumi Matsuhira was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Gardena, Calif. The Gardena resident passed away on Dec. 16, 2012. She was 94 years old. She is survived by her sister, Harue Suzuki; her nieces, Marian Takamura and Shirley Rehmani; her nephew, Rex Takenouchi; nephew-in-law, Walter Takamura; great-nephew and niece, Kurtis and Emily Takamura; also nieces, nephews and many relatives from Japan. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes.
