SACRAMENTO — Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) was sworn in as the representative for the 66th Assembly District during a ceremony held Dec. 3 on the Assembly floor at the State Capitol.
The district includes Gardena, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, the Los Angeles communities of Harbor City and Harbor Gateway, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance and the unincorporated communities of El Camino Village and West Carson.
“I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to serve in the State Assembly,” said Muratsuchi. “We need to refocus state government on common-sense priorities — good jobs, better schools, safe neighborhoods, and a healthy environment.”
“I will fight to get the state’s fiscal house in order, improve California’s business climate, and restore funding for our schools. We need to get California working again.”
The oath of office was administered by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mary Lou Villar de Longoria.
