A funeral service for Sam Isamu Shimane, 87-year-old, San Jose, Calif.-born Nisei, who passed away on Dec. 12, 2012, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W. 158th St., Gardena.

He is survived by his wife, Helene Shimane; children, Janice (Ed) Yamanaka, John (Nancy) and Jeffrey (Christine) Shimane; grandchildren, Megan and Patrick Yamanaka, Justin, Devin, and Caden Shimane; siblings, Alyce Ishimoto, Nellie Ishibashi, Kiyo (Mas) Tawa, Kaz Shimane, and Keiko (Shiro) Ono; sisters-in-law, Chiye Shimane and Jean (Dick) Enomoto; brothers-in-law, Ronald and Edward (Janet) Kamiya; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
