After a lengthy illness, Ben Shoichi Takenouchi, who was 79 years old, peacefully passed away at home on Dec. 24, 2012. A long-time resident of Pasadena, he was born in Los Angeles. During the Korean War, he was trained by the Army as a radio technician. He spent his entire career with Cal Trans.
He is survived by his sister Gladys Itamura, nieces and nephews Lynne Itamura, Dr. John Itamura (Dr. Julia Itamura), Dr. Michael Itamura, Lisa Itamura (Robert Kanard), and 5 great-nephews and nieces.
Service was held at Fukui Mortuary on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or koden, donations to your favorite charities be made.
