Nancy Satsuye Horii, age 89, born in San Juan Bautista, Calif., resident of Torrance and former resident of Goleta and Gardena, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, George Fusao Horii, brothers Fumio, Kay and Sam, sisters Yoshiko, Haruko, and Marian. She is survived by her beloved children, Ronald (Lorraine) Horii, Karen Horii, Marilyn (Mike) Tsuge, and Patty (Paul) Tartaglia of Maryland; grandchildren, Christopher Horii, Stephanie Horii, Russell Tsuge, Brandon Tsuge, and Jennifer Tartaglia of Maryland; sisters-in-law, Louise Kawamoto, June Yamamoto, Mary (Kazuo) Kajiyama, and Jeanette Horii; brothers-in-law, Tetsuo Murata, Howard (Paula) Horii, Harry (Chita) Horii, Robert (Mary) Horii, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and other relatives here in the U.S. and in Japan.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena.
