INDIAN WELLS — Hiroshima will headline “The Grooves on the Green,” an evening of world-class music in a beautiful setting under the stars at Indian Wells Golf Resort. The concert is set for Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.).

From left: Kimo Cornwell (keyboards), June Kuramoto (koto), Danny Yamamoto (drums, taiko), KTLA’s Ginger Chan, and Dan Kuramoto (saxophone, flutes).

Fresh from their highly successful “Departure” tour, Hiroshima adds a special guest, vocalist Terry Steele, for a concert of jazz, R&B, salsa and more — all done in their uniquely East/West style, incorporating Japanese instruments such as the taiko.

With over 30 years of experience, Hiroshima appears on concert stages and in festivals throughout the world as well as film and TV. June Kuramoto, one of the original members, is a music icon, renowned for her deftness on the koto and her ability to bridge the gap between traditional Asian music and jazz.

After three years of successful concerts at La Quinta, Apaulo Music Productions is back with a new venue. “Grooves on the Green” is sponsored by Miramonte Resort & Spa.

“I am proud to welcome Hiroshima back to the Palm Springs Valley for an evening of great music in a beautiful setting on the green at Indian Wells Golf Resort,” stated Michael Paulo of Apualo Music Productions. “Don’t miss the number one Asian American band on Saturday, March 2.”

Gold seating: $45 pre-sale, $50 at the door. VIP reserved table seating: $85 pre-sale, $90 at the door (includes a meet-and-greet with the artists, wine and cheese reception beginning at 6:30 p.m., and quality middle-venue seating location).
