It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved
mother, Michiko Shimoda, 84, after a brief illness. She was a longtime
resident of Monterey Park, Calif. Michiko was a longtime supporter of
the youth basketball leagues, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30
p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 S. Workman Mill Road, Whittier,
CA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00
a.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Chapel. www.rosehills.com
Michiko is survived by three sons and two daughters: Andrew (Linda)
Shimoda, Robert (Debra) Shimoda, Elaine (Dennis) Shimoda Jung, Carol
(Evey) Shimoda Fong, and Glenn (Lisa) Shimoda. She was a grandmother
to eight adoring grandchildren and leaves behind two brothers, a
sister, and many nieces and nephews. She was truly the “Heart of our
Home.”
