The first in a series of on-camera commercial audition workshops with Aaron Takahashi will be held Tuesday, April 2, from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier (Maryknoll Catholic Center), 222 S. Hewitt St. (east of Alameda, between Second and Third streets), Los Angeles.

Aaron Takahashi

If you’ve always wanted to take an on camera commercial audition class, here’s your chance to study with someone who knows what it takes to book the job. Are you staying current on commercial audition techniques? Do you continually go on auditions and wonder why you’re not booking? Takahashi has booked over 45 national commercials — find out what makes him such a successful commercial actor.

Takahashi’s workshop takes a comprehensive look at the process of commercial acting. Through on-camera work, he introduces the numerous types of commercial auditions and will share his insights on the art of commercial acting, including breaking down audition sides, recognizing the tone of a spot, and finding beats and jokes.

Whether you’re just starting out in the commercial world, or have been auditioning regularly and not getting callbacks or bookings, Takahashi will help you discover what you can do to set yourself apart from the crowd. Prior acting training required.

The eight-week session runs Tuesday nights until May 21. Tuition is $400 general, $375 for ACTS (Alliance of Creative Talent Services) members. There is free on-site parking.
