A welcoming reception for Warren Furutani, a new commissioner of the Los Angeles Board of Public Works, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tom Bradley Tower, Los Angeles City Hall, 200 N. Spring St.

Furutani was appointed to the board by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa after retiring from the State Assembly last year.

The event is hosted by the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON)  and the Asian Pacific American Leadership Project (APALP) with support for civic engagement from Southern California Edison.
