Private memorial service for Yaeko Hanagata, 86-year-old Gunma, Japan-born Issei, who passed away on April 30, 2013, was held on May 14, 2013, at Rose Hills, officiated by Rev. Marvin Harada from Orange County Buddhist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Sunada (John), Marian Tagawa (Wayne), and Jacqueline Rojas (Mario); four grandchildren, James, David, Rachel and Franqui; one brother, Kazuhiko Niikura (Toshiko); and many relatives in Japan.
In lieu of flowers and koden, the family requests donations be made to the Orange County Buddhist Church, 909 S. Dale Ave., Anaheim, CA 92804, in memory of Yaeko Hanagata.
