
SANTA MONICA — Naomi Hirahara, author of the Mas Arai mystery series, will be part of a Sisters in Crime panel on Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at the Santa Monica Library, Ocean Park Branch, 2601 Main St., Santa Monica.
Hirahara, whose latest novel is “Strawberry Yellow,” will join fellow Los Angeles-based mystery writers Lisa Brackmann (“Rock Paper Tiger,” “Hour of the Rat”) and Jeri Westerson (Crispin Guest medieval noir series). They will discuss their recent works and writing styles.
Q&A to follow program. Authors will have their books available to purchase.
At the same location on Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m., Hirahara and the Ocean Park Mystery Group will discuss “Summer of the Big Bachi,” the novel that introduced gardener-turned-sleuth Mas Arai. The group meets on the third Tuesday of the month.
