Ellen Hamada Crane of Irvine is the recipient of the 2013 Sunao Kikunaga Memorial Scholarship.

She is presently enrolled at the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley.
The $2,000 scholarship will go to help Crane in the pursuit of her studies in Jodoshinshu Buddhism. She has long been an active member of Orange County Buddhist Church in Anaheim.
The Sunao Kikunaga Memorial Scholarship was established at Senshin Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles in memory of Sunao Kikunaga, longtime member, supporter, and leader at the temple, by his family. Awards are given annually to those wishing to pursue studies in and/or furthering the propagation and understanding of Jodoshinshu.
