TBS has announced that Season 2 of its hit series “Sullivan & Son” will premiere Thursday, June 13, at 10 p.m. with a guest appearance by Ken Jeong of “Community” and the “Hangover” movies.
Standup comic Steve Byrne plays Steve Sullivan, a successful corporate attorney from New York who brings his girlfriend home for his father’s 60th birthday and learns that his Irish American father, Jack Sullivan (Dan Lauria, “The Wonder Years”), and Korean mother, Ok Cha (Jodi Long, “Beginners”), are preparing to sell the multi-generational family business, a bar known as Sullivan & Son.
It doesn’t take Steve long to realize that where he really belongs is in the old neighborhood and running Sullivan & Son. And so begins Steve’s quest for a more meaningful and rewarding life behind the bar.
Vivian Bang (“Yes Man”) play Steve’s sister, Susan. The ensemble cast includes Christine Ebersole (“Royal Pains,” “Amadeus”), Brian Doyle-Murray (“Groundhog Day,” “Saturday Night Live”), Valerie Azlynn (“Tropic Thunder”), Ahmed Ahmed (“You Don’t Mess with the Zohan”), Roy Wood Jr. (“Last Comic Standing”) and Owen Benjamin (“The House Bunny”).
In the season premiere, a visit to the bar from Susan’s overachieving husband Jason (Jeong) leads to a life decision mirroring Steve’s leaving a successful career to follow his bliss.
The series is executive-produced by Vince Vaughn (“The Break-Up”), Peter Billingsley (“Iron Man”) and show-runner Rob Long (“Cheers”).
