
The Japanese American National Museum, 100 N. Central Ave. in Little Tokyo, will host Target Free Family Saturday on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With “Summer Fun” as the theme, the event will feature storytelling and fun crafts.
Storyteller Alton Chung will perform his one-man show about the Nisei soldiers of World War II, “Heroes,” at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. This program contains mature themes that may not be appropriate for younger audience members.
From 1 to 4 p.m., make delicious summer fun trail mix with Kidding Around the Kitchen.
At 2 p.m., story time will feature “Under the Cherry Blossom Tree,” a traditional Japanese folktale written by Japanese American author Allen Say.
Kids can make friendship bracelets to celebrate Best Friends Day (June 8), and make fun Father’s Day cards at Ruthie’s Origami Corner.
