VJCC YAC’s donut-eating contest was one of the highlights of this year’s Summer Festival.

The Venice Japanese Community Center Young Adults Club was founded in January 2012 to assist and provide service to the community; perpetuate dedication and devotion to the pioneers of the VJCC; and encourage the growth and development for its future.

Events that VJCC YAC has hosted include a financial planning meeting last August, a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in October, and the Sake Social at Aki’s Restaurant in April.

The group participated in VJCC’s annual Summer Festival on June 22-23, organizing miniature golf (jointly with West Los Angeles United Methodist Church) and a donut-eating contest in which the donuts were swinging on strings and the contestants could not use their hands.

VJCC YAC is also helping out with the 12th annual VJCC Golf Tournament, to be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at Robinson Ranch, and Bingo Night on Saturday, Oct. 19.
