James Abe, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Sacramento on July 2, 2013. James graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1942. During WWII, he and his parents were interned to relocation camps in Jerome, AR and Gila, AZ. During his life, he was a successful farmer, small businessman, and certified nurseryman. James was an active member and leader at the Florin Buddhist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sadako (Betty) of Los Angeles; 4 sons, Ernest (Laura), Martin (Eva), Calvin (Cheryl), and Raymond (Laura); 5 grandchildren, Noelle McCrea, Joseph, Miyako, Cameron and Garrett Abe; and great-grandchild, Camille Ducay. A memorial service will be held at Florin Buddhist Church in Sacramento on July 13, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
