A funeral service for Tomio “Tom” Matsumoto, 81 year-old, Kagoshima, Japan-born Issei, who passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2013 in Torrance, will be held on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena.

He is survived by his wife, Sadako Matsumoto; children, Tachi (Larry) DeWeese, Jason (Sheree) Matsumoto and Charlene (Rolando) Zuniga; grandchildren, Chelsea and Austin DeWeese, Mason Matsumoto, and Wyatt Zuniga; great-granddaughter, Savannah Magnusen; brother, Hiroshi Matsumoto of Japan; sisters-in-law, Noriko Matsumoto and Sue Okada; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
