The public invited to a celebration of community, food, music and dance. Once again, West Los Angeles United Methodist Church, located at 1913 Purdue Ave., will open its hearts, minds and doors to the community with its annual Asian Cultural Bazaar on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Silent auction items at the bazaar include fine wine.

In keeping with a joyous celebration of community, the focus will be a coming together as a family and community of faith under God, as well as an opportunity to joyfully reach out to members of the community both near and far and demonstrate faith in action.The exciting day of fun and fellowship will feature delicious food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, beautiful plants and flowers, and games, crafts and face-painting for the kids, as well as door prizes, a silent auction and a Second Chance Store.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day by gifted musicians and dancers, and on display will be cultural and historical presentations as well as the creations of talented church artists.

Other upcoming church events include Japanese Film Night on Friday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. The featured film will be Yoji Yamada’s “Kabei” (Our Mother).
