Wilfred Itsufumi “Fumi” Oyama, 75, Los Angeles-born Nisei, U.S. Army veteran, resident Los Angeles, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, at Keck Hospital of USC.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Masako Oyama; daughters, Francine Kanno and Celeste (Peter Kerekes) Oyama; grandchildren, Kai and Cade Kanno, Anika Kerekes; sisters, Akiko Saiki and Sally (Takeo) Akasaki; brother, George (Seiko) Minami.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27, from 11:30a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cypress, “Church of Our Fathers,” 4471 Lincoln Ave., Cypress, with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
