Palos Verdes Peninsula junior running back Rory Hubbard had a day for the scrapbook on Oct. 18, scoring three touchdowns in the Panthers’ 38-0 drubbing of host Leuzinger.

Hubbard collected 81 yards on nine carries, including a 35-yard kickoff return.

The son of Gayle Hayashi and Tim Hubbard leads Peninsula in rushing yards per game (151.7) and points per game with 8.6. He has amassed 1062 rushing yards for the season on 134 carries, an average of 7.9 yards per carry.

Hubbard is having a monster junior season, one that has included a 236-yard performance against Torrance on Sept. 20.

The Panthers will look to improve upon their 4-3 record this Friday when they host Mira Costa in a 3 p.m. Bay League matchup.

The Mustangs, also with a 4-3 record, took one on the chin last week in a 35-0 league loss to Palos Verdes.
