Nibei Foundation hosts a free screening of the 2012 Hawaiian comedy “Get a Job” on Friday, Nov. 1, from 5:30 p.m. at its office at 11570 E. Olympic  Blvd., Los Angeles.

get a jobStarring Willie K, Eric Gilliom, Carolyn Omine and Augie T, “Get a Job” is a slapstick full-feature comedy from Hawaii. Many artists and Pacific Island entertainers who are well known and popular in Japan contributed to the film, including Jake Shimabukuro and Amy Hanaiali’i.

Director Brian Kohne said, “Hawaii is the real star of our production.”

Special guest for the evening is Raymond Rolak, one of the film’s producers, a veteran television broadcaster and longtime sports administrator who has traveled to Japan many times. He will share insights into the filming of the comedy that serious film students and ambassadors of Hawaii will find enriching.

    This was new to me but a worthwhile cultural enrichment. I am a huge Willie K fan.
