Orange Coast Gakuen Japanese Language School has booths at two festivals this weekend.

• Beef teriyaki stick fundraiser at Carnival Colossal & Expo, Vista Hermosa Ports Park, 987 Vista Hermosa, San Clemente. Funds raised at this event will go to pay for school operations and rent.

The carnival will feature rides, food and entertainment. Hours: Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 11 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 10 p.m. Event info: www.friendsofsanclemente.org.

• Information booth and free game for children at L.A. Japan Fair 2013, OC Fairground, 88 Fair Dr., Costa Mesa. The event introduces contemporary and traditional Japanese culture through performances and more than 100 booths. Hours: Oct. 12, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Event info: www.c-japanusa.com.

OCG is one of the oldest and largest Japanese language schools in Orange County. Students range from kindergarten through high school, come from all backgrounds, have have various degrees of prior exposure to the Japanese language. Classes are held on Saturday mornings in south Huntington Beach. The majority of the families live in Irvine, Huntington Beach, and south Orange County.
