The Yoshinoya restaurant at 3021 S. Figueroa St. near USC held a grand re-opening on Dec. 4, with what can only be described as a giant event.
Two professional sumo wrestlers — Yamamotoyama, the largest sumotori in history at 6’4” and 600 pounds, and four-time world sumo champion Byamba — squared off to see who could set the record for the most Yoshinoya Beef Bowls eaten in 15 minutes.
Yamamotyama, left, won the contest with seven bowls consumed, while Byama ate five.
