A private graveside funeral service for Mary Yoshiye Shima, 97-year-old, Seattle, Wash.-born Nisei, who passed away on Nov. 27, 2013 in Inglewood was held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Green Hills Memorial Park.

She is predeceased by her husband, Shingo Shima, and survived by her children, Carolyn (Yosh) Hiraki of San Jose, Calif., Michael (Ann) Shima, Kathryn Shima and Spencer (Rena) Shima; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose (Robert) Fukuhara; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
