Haru passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 with her entire family at her side. She enjoyed her long life and was strong to the end. Haru cherished her family and enjoyed periodic visits to Las Vegas. She is the last of 6 children and was very close to her siblings. She had a big heart and would do anything for friends and family. Haru will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son, Mel (Nora) Masuda; daughter, Corinne Yano; son, Gene (Joanne) Masuda; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Haru Alice Hasegawa may be made to Keiro Senior Health Care, 15115 S. Vermont Avenue, Gardena, Calif. 90247.
