Funeral services for the late Masao Ben Shimizu, 97-year-old, Yuba City-born resident of Gardena, who passed away on Jan. 6, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 4 p.m. at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th Street, Gardena.
He is survived by his sons, Dr. Stanley (Irenae), Cary (Linda), Gary (Linda), Dr. Kelvin (Arlene) Shimizu; grandchildren, Natalie, Alex, Scott, Darrin, Garrett, Kaitlin Shimizu, Nicole (Rocky) Powell, Jocelyn Shimizu, and Jennifer (Ryan) Kucera; great-grandchild, Kai’noah Kazuhiko Powell and Lukas Reef Shimizu; brother, Asayuki (Hiroko) Shimizu of Sacramento; sister, Yuriko Sahara of Hawaii; sister-in-law, Alice Shimizu of Sacramento; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
