SAN FRANCISCO — Celebrate the Year of the Horse at the 43rd annual Oshogatsu Matsuri on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter St. in San Francisco Japantown.

Free and open to the public, the family-friendly event features cultural arts and crafts, mochitsuki and ozoni, entertainment (including taiko, Japanese dance and martial arts), and a children’s art contest.

Bring a plain, light-colored T-shirt and J-Town Arts will silk-screen it for free.
