Mr. Robert “Bob” Charles Matthews, Jr., 67, Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 11 at home in Kailua Kona. Born in Los Angeles on Dec. 27, 1946, he retired as Electronic Production Center Operations Mgr and Deputy Center Mgr at TRW in Redondo Beach, Calif. He was a member of the Kona Paradise Fishing Club, owner of the “BadBuoy” fishing boat and an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman. Friends may celebrate his life at 12 noon Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Portofino Hotel, Bayside Ballroom, 260 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach, Calif. Aloha/casual attire please. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Yorimoto Matthews of Kailua-Kona; son, Robert (Angie) Matthews of Encinitas, Calif.; daughter, Stacy (Ryan) Horton of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Ron (June) Walker of Phoenix, Ariz; sister, Donna (Wes) Hickish of Pinon Hills, Calif.; grandson, Derek Horton of Ft. Worth, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
