A funeral service for Atsuko Matsumura, 83-year-old, Kumamoto, Japan-born Issei, who passed away on Jan. 26, 2014 in Sylmar, Calif., will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. Third St. L.A.

She is survived by her husband, Hosaku Matsumura; children, Hiroyuki (Rose) Matsumura, Yuko (Hitoshi) Uchino of Japan, and Yoshiko (Kazuyoshi) Iwamoto; eight grandchildren; two siblings; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
