Clyde Kusatsu (second from right) is president of the Los Angeles local of the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

East West Players’ Alliance of Creative Talent Service Directory (ACTS) presents a special engagement with Clyde Kusatsu on Tuesday, March 18, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the David Henry Hwang Theater, 120 Judge John Aiso St. in Little Tokyo.

Kusatsu is SAG/AFTRA Los Angeles Local president and national vice president and vice chair of the TV/Theatrical Negotiations Committee. He will be able to answer questions regarding SAG/AFTRA, and this is a great opportunity for those who hope to join the union in the future as well as for card-carrying members.

Although voted in by SAG/AFTRA membership on his own merit, Kusatsu is the first Asian Pacific American to hold the prestigious position of president of the newly formed SAG/AFTRA merger. Explaining his reason for running, Kusatsu said, “Do I sit back, or do I give back? It’s not a question for me anymore. I’ve chosen to serve the union as a volunteer elected leader and I am thrilled and excited to do so.”

Kusatsu’s film and television career goes back 40 years. His latest credits include the movie “47 Ronin” and the TV series “Raising Hope” and “Franklin & Bash.”

This event if free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Contact Arts Education Director Marilyn Tokuda at mtokudaewp@gmail.com.

Parking is located across the street at Aiso Parking Garage for $3 after 5 p.m. The garage closes at 12 midnight sharp.
