ANAHEIM — Project Kokoro presents a special screening of “Linsanity” on Sunday, April 13, at 12:30 p.m. at the Orange County Buddhist Church gym, 909 Dale Ave. in Anaheim.

“Linsanity,” an official selection of the Sundance and SXSW (South by Southwest) film festivals, is a biographical documentary by Evan Jackson Leong about Chinese American basketball phenomenon Jeremy Lin’s crossover path from Palo Alto High School to Harvard to the NBA.

Directed by Evan Jackson Leong and narrated by actor Daniel Dae Kim, “Linsanity” was an official selection of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and SXSW (South by Southwest) Film Festival.

linsanity movie for webAttendees will also have the chance to meet former USC basketball star Jamie Hagiya. Growing up in the South Bay, she played with FOR and OCO as well as club basketball with North Stars, South Bay, SoCal and NJB Stars. During her senior year she was recruited by USC and accepted a full scholarship to play for the Women of Troy.

After graduation, Hagiya went on to play basketball overseas in Greece for two years and a short while in Spain. Once a Nisei Week princess, she is now the owner of Torrance Crossfit. Come hear her remarkable story in person.

Admission is $5 general, free for children under 4 and senior citizens 65 and older. Lunch is available for purchase from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come early to the gym and enjoy a meal before the film. DVDs of “Linsanity” can be reserved for $20 each.

Proceeds will benefit OCBC’s 50th Anniversary Building Fund.
