Mrs. Masako Fukumoto, 87, Spokane, Wash.-born Nisei, resident of Los Angeles, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 29, at Kindred Hospital of Los Angeles.
She is survived by her son, Arthur M. (Kathy) Fukumoto; daughters, Akemi L. (Hideki) Ueda and Shirl E. Fukumoto; grandchildren, Christine (Robert Dirks) Ueda-Dirks, Jason Ueda and Sierra Fukumoto; great-grandchildren, Owen Dirks and Phoebe Dirks; sister Yoshiko Hirano of Japan; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 7 p.m. at Seicho-No-Ie, 14527 S. Vermont Ave., Gardena, CA.
