The Nisei Veterans Coordinating Council will hold its annual Memorial Day service, honoring all Japanese Americans who gave their lives for our country.

The service is to be held on Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Park, 204 N. Evergreen Ave., Los Angeles.
Featured in the service will be keynote speaker Capt. Robert Leong, U.S. Army Special Forces, Vietnam. Leaders from local veterans’ organizations will make floral presentations at the memorial in honor of all service members killed in action in the nation’s wars. The consul general of Japan will be represented by Consul and Mrs. Izuru Shimmura. Rev. Join Inouye from Nichiren Buddhist Temple will give the invocation, and Rev. Dr. Richard Kuyama of the Japanese American Church Federation, the benediction.
Also participating will be the Redondo Union High School, Marine Corps JROTC, Koyasan Buddhist Temple Boy Scouts and other youth organizations.
