GARDENA — Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease will eventually impair a person’s ability to drive, making them a safety hazard to themselves and others.

The Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute (GVJCI) and the Alzheimer’s Association are co-sponsoring a video presentation and discussion on this subject.

Strategies for early planning and suggestions for alternate methods of transportation will be offered. No longer being able to drive should not limit your independence. Seniors and those that are concerned that they may know someone that should consider alternate transportation are invited to attend.

This presentation will take place in the GVJCI Nisei Veterans Hall on Saturday, June 14, at 2 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The address is 1964 W. 162nd St., Gardena. For more information, call the GVJCI office at (310) 324-6611 or email info@jci-gardena.org.
