SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) presented Kaji & Associates with the Small Business of the Year Award on June 16 at the annual California Small Business Day awards ceremony in Sacramento.
Founded in 1984 and located in the City of Torrance, Kaji & Associates is a family-owned commercial and residential real estate brokerage. Jonathan Kaji, president of Kaji & Associates, has served as a member of the President’s Export Council under President George W. Bush and also as director of the State of California Office of Trade and Investment under Gov. Pete Wilson. Kaji has helped attract approximately $1.9 billion in new foreign direct investment in California, and assisted companies such as Panasonic and Kikkoman in locating factories and creating thousands of new jobs in the state.
“Kaji & Associates is a small business that thinks and acts globally as well as locally,” said Muratsuchi. “The South Bay and California is fortunate to have outstanding global citizens like Mr. Kaji getting local and foreign investors to invest in California and create jobs in our state.”
“On behalf of our family, employees and real estate clients, I’d like to thank Assemblyman Muratsuchi for this special recognition,” said Kaji. “Kaji & Associates will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year and are looking forward to making the South Bay an even better place to live and work.”
Convened annually by the California Small Business Association, the California Small Business Day provides an opportunity for state legislators to honor a small business from their legislative district.
