A funeral service for Joe Sadao Yamashige, 80-year-old, Buena Park, Calif.-born Nisei, who passed away on July 21, 2014 in Montebello, Calif., will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 505 E. Third St., L.A.

He is survived by his wife, Toshiko Yamashige; children, Guy and Gary (Janet) Yamashige, Janet (Wilson) Wong, Laurie Yamamori, and Ken Matsumoto; grandchildren, Allan Yamashige, Taylor, Shannon and Evan Wong, and Michelle and Jimmy Yamamori; sister-in-law, Sachiko (Jonathan) Pedder; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
