Nikkei members of Congress were among those reacting to the apparent suicide of actor/comedian Robin Williams on Monday.
“His art brought joy to millions of lives. He will be missed,” said Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside). “If you or anybody you know needs help, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.”
“Yesterday we lost an incredible man and entertainer who brought joy to all he touched,” said Rep. Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento). “It was such a pleasure to meet him and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
“We lost more than a Bay Area legend and world-renowned actor. We lost a man who could make us laugh, cry and remember,” said Rep. Mike Honda (D-San Jose), who called Williams a friend. “An amazing actor, a great human being, we thank him for challenging social norms and for making us better.”
