Mitsuko Higashi, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2014. A private service was held on Aug. 9, at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” with Rinban Noriaki Ito of Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple officiating.
She is survived by loving daughter, Junko (Isamu) Shimomaye; her siblings in Japan; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Japan.
