Private memorial gathering was held Wednesday, October 23, in Los Angeles. Amy Yoshinaga, 87, passed away on Oct. 13th, Christopher Columbus Day. Amy was born in Sacramento, Calif., but grew up in L.A. She was moved to the Jerome, Ark. concentration camp during her high school years. She then moved to NYC, where she spent most of her adult life before moving back to Los Angeles the last three years.
She is survived by brother, Tsugio John Yoshinaga (Lucienne) of NYC; sister, Aiko Herzig-Yoshinaga of Gardena. Amy will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, caregivers and friends here in L.A. and on the East Coast. A gathering in NYC will be held at a later date.
