Mrs. Michie Terukina, 89, Shimizu, Japan-born Issei, resident of Arleta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 21, at her residence.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter, June (Clark) Ibusuki and Janice (Rick) Gibby of Vista; son, Gordon (Julie) Sugimoto of Riverside; grandchildren, Kristy and Mako Ibusuki, Dillon and Shannon Cone, Brandon Sugimoto and Holly (Dustin) Crittenden; brother, Akira Kubota of Japan; sisters, Toko (Dave) Dickinson of Arizona, Ayako (Tsuneo) Fujimori and Hiroko Shiokawa, both of Japan; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 7:30 p.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, with Rinban Noriaki Ito of Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple officiating.The family requests in lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Association of California, www.lung.org, (213) 384-5864.
