Robert K. Goya (88) passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2014. The husband of Mitsue, they shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Maui, he was the second-oldest son of Kwanko and Kana Goya of Hawaii. He served in WWII. His first job out of the Army was Roger’s Repair in Hawaii, where he met his wife Mitsue. After they moved to Los Angeles, he worked for General Motors and then Max Barish Chrysler for 32 years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening and the excitement of gambling in Las Vegas. As a husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend he will be missed by many. 
He is survived by his beloved wife Mitsue Goya; sons Calvin (Shirley) and Allan (Lynelle); grandson Robert; brothers Joe (Vina), Takeo (Naomi), Kazuo, John; and sisters Emily (Paul) Lasquete, Betsy (Paul) Han, Jane Sato, Betty (Olan) Teves. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 
The family requests no koden. Private memorial services were held on Oct. 10, 2014 at Inglewood Cemetery.
