The Japanese American National Museum, Angry Asian Man, First Pond Entertainment, and Visual Communications present a special holiday screening of “Jake Shimabukuro: Life on Four Strings” on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. at JANM, 100 N. Central Ave. in Little Tokyo.

The screening will be followed by a holiday performance by Shimabukuro and a conversation between Shimabukuro and director Tadashi Nakamura, plus a light reception.

Nakamura’s documentary is an inspiring portrait of an inventive musician whose virtuoso ukulele skills have transformed all previous notions of the instrument’s potential. Through intimate conversations with Shimabukuro, the film reveals the cultural and personal influences that have shaped the man and the musician.

Admission: $30 general, $24 for JANM and VC members. For tickets, go online to www.janm.org/events/2014/12/#21.
